Problems Connecting to Exchange Online

This question is answered This question is answered

Hi

After adding the Exchange Online forest into EMC and trying to browse the tree i get the following error-message.

Forest "Exchange Online" needs to be updated

A download is required to reload the snap-in because there's an update in the connected BPOS server.

Please use the link below to download version 14.1.225.16

  • Have installed and run the connector on this computer? When adding an Exchange forest in the Exchange Management Console, the wizard alerts you that you have to have the Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant to connect to Exchange Online. This is incorrect. You must have the Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant instead. If you have already installed updates by using the Microsoft Online Services Connector, you already installed the Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant. You do not have to install the Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant.

If the above doesn't take care of the issue for you, try applying the following registry setting:

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v14\AdminTools

    1. Close the EMC.

    2. Create the following key:

        Type: Reg_Sz

        Name: EMC.SkipVersionCheck

        Value: true

    3. Restart EMC.
