Change Sharepoint Address

This question is answered This question is answered
I worked through the move from OLSB to 365.  As part of the final step, I wanted to change the address of my Sharepoint Web Address.  When I select Change Address, a dialogue box opens with OK and Cancel present.  I select my domain but the OK and Cancel are no longer present to make the change.  Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Is it a timing issue, something I missed, just at a loss.

I am able to browse to the domain that you have listed. When you click on the "Change Address" option, do you see http://<domain>.sharepoint.com or http://www.ernsglass.com listed by it? I will continue to monitor this thread and wait for your reply.

  • Hi Ern,
I understand after migration, you want to change your SharePoint website address to use your own domain.
In your situation, are you still facing this problem? If so, I'd like to clarify whether you can access your SharePoint website with contoso.sharepoint.com address. Also, I'd like to know which website browser are you using?

For troubleshooting this issue, I'd like if you could sign out MOP (Microsoft Online Portal) and sign in again and then try to change your website address in MOP.

If the problem still persists, I'd like if you could try to log into MOP use another website browser (For example: Firefox) , or you may clean the cookies of your browser and then try to change the website address again.
To clean the cookies in IE:
Open your IE browser, Click the Tools button , point to Safety, and then click Delete browsing history. Select Temporary Internet Files and Cookies, uncheck Preserve Favorites website data check box if you had added the onmicrosoft.com domain as favorite, click Delete.

Meanwhile, any capture of the error screen would be appreciate.

  • Evan, cleared IE history, cookies, etc. unchecked box recommended, still do no have the option to perform the Change Address for sharepoint.  I go to Domains, select Change address, see OK and Cancel.  When I select my domain in the pulldown - Ernsglass.com - then the OK and Cancel are no longer in the pane, they have been removed.
