How to make Teamsite Links open in a new tab?

Hi All,

I have setup links tab in our organisation's Team site office 365. they have a number of links under the links tab and when they click on it the page comes up on the same tab ultimately closes the teamsite.

How could I make the link to come up in a new tab ?

Why can I not keep my DNS Name Servers the same as before, I do not want to use MS NS

do I still need my hot domain account from discountasp.com for my domain, or is office365 my primary host provider?

I had DiscountASP.Net as my host provider, paying a yearly cost to host my domain and website.

Do I still need to keep this account. The website, I save and establish a new one under office365 if I really need to.

I am preparing to deployed office 365 for my organization. We have about 40 users that would use office 365. I review the deployment guide published by MS here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh852466.aspx .

Is there one document that include the deployment guide instead of going from one link to another link.

I signed up the first account for a small organization to use MS Exchange Online.

The account created was Username yyy@coname.onmicrosoft.com.

I went into Exchange online and the admin functions, as well as godaddy, and I was able to get email sent from and delivered to yyy@coname.com. This is all good.

Now, I want to user to be able to sign into the Exchange online account using the username yyy@coname.com, but the only way I'm able to sign is with the user name yyy@coname.onmicrosoft.com. I'm not finding any options that let me change the User Name.

How do I change the User Name so that the user can log in with the email name yyy@coname.com

初期設定より、DNSの設定を行ってしまい、削除したいのですが、「Office 365 によって自動的に作成された DNS レコード」に追記してしまった、ドメインの入ったサービスが記録されているため、削除できない状況です。そのせいか、不安定で、SKYDRIVEやサイトにも行けなくなりました。そのせいで元の設定をしたドメインのメールも不安定になってしまったかもしれません。全部を初期化、ないしはDNSの部分を削除する方法を教えてください。

Adding mailbox "app" to sharepoint is creating it on the wrong domain.

Plan is P1 or small business premium, depending on the user.

When i go to add the mailbox app, it creates it under our mydomain.net (which is not used for this purpose), instead of mydomain.com - Sharepoint is under company.sharepoint.com. I cannot find the options to specify a domain. Any help would be appreciated.

Litigation Hold and Deleted Mailboxes

What happens to the litigation hold configuration of a mailbox that has been deleted from the organization?

For example - Bob Jones' mailbox was active for 2 years, with litigation hold enabled. Bob leaves the company and his mailbox is deleted. Will a discovery manager still be able to search for Bob's messages even after his mailbox has been deleted for several years to come?

office 365 setup questions

I am using the trial period of the office 365 small business. We already have had our website established for years and do not want to change the nameservers or use the MS ecosystem. I just want to use the applications. Why isn't there an easy setup just to add users without having to do this? If there is, how do you do it, I am just going in circles?

Also, I would like to utilize the skydrive pro (assign shares to pc's or above mentioned users) and use lync on computers with the install. One should be able to utilize lync by identifying yourself as an aforementioned added user with an email address and confirming the computer is part of the licensing.

Any help would be appreciated

SharePoint Online public site with vanity domain.

I have SPO Plan 2 and am trying to link a vanity domain to public website. I followed the instructions along the way:

1. Site is online

2. Vanity domain has been registered and verified in the admin portal.

3. Site URL changed in SP Admin from http://%3corg%3e-public.sharepoint.com/ to http://%3cvanitydomain%3e.com/

4. CNAME record created with registrar that points www.<vanitydomain>.com to <org>.sharepoint.com (per info provided by DNS Information screen in SP Admin portal).

When I try to access the site thru vanity domain browser keeps flicking between a www3998.sharepoint.com URL and a login.???? URL. The end result is a Web Page Expired page.

Questions:

1. On some help screens I see mention of changing nameservers to onmicrosoft nameservers, but these seem more directed to Office 365 vanity domains. Is this required for SPO?

2. It seems to me that the CNAME should point to the <org>-public.sharepoint.com URL. Any chance this is the error?

Can I setup forwarding back to the on-premise Exchange server during migration

I am doing a migration and about 10 test users are already migrated and working in Exchange Online. I am going to migrate the remaining users in a couple weeks. It will take about 4 days to migrate all the data from their on-premise Exchange 2010 server to Exchange online. During those 4 days the users who are migrating will still be using their on-premise exchange server. can I setup forwarding during those 4 days so that mail-flow will work for the 10 test users already migrated to the cloud. This was supposed to be a simple cutover migration without Directory Synchronization or hybrid servers but was complicated with the test user accounts. Please advise how to move forward. Thanks.

I've completed Exchange cutover migration from Exchange 2010 SP3 to Office 365 E3 with AD federation and dirsync.

Everything looks great but I have some questions about management tasks,

1. I migrated all mailboxes to Office 365 so do I need to delete on-premise exchange mailboxes? Is it required to keep the migrated users' mailboxes?

2. What is the correct way to create a new user? Currently I'm using ADUC to create a user and syncing to Office 365... Is it better to use Exchange 2010 SP3 EMC?

3. What is the best way to do common Exchange tasks on Office 365? ie. managing quotas, adding alias, forwarding, adding mailbox permission...

the office365 upgrade, do I need to change my MX records because of it?

I logged into my Office365 Web app to look at the new appearance and while checking out the new layout I noticed my Domains have "Setup in Progress" status.

When I click on the "setup in progress" it takes me to "Set the domain purpose and configure DNS"; when I click on "start step 3" and "next" it shows me my MX records I need to setup in my DNS records which are different than what I currently have setup in my DNS records.

I'm NOT "setting up" our emails, we've been using Office365 for our emails for a year now. Do I need to change my MX records now because of this upgrade?

Our Outlook Web app is EXTREMELY slow, are these MX records the cause of that?

My current MX records are "harveyautomotive-com.mail.eo.outlook.com" and the "Setup in Progress" show they should be "harveyautomotive-com.mail.protection.outlook.com". Do I need to get these changes made again?

we have a 4 licence small business plan

scheduled upgrade was completed 14th May

3 users able to sign in and access team site without any issues

4th user able to sign in but when trying to access team site receives message " we are nearly ready"

if the team site is typed directly into the address bar the 4th user is able to access the team site.

what can be done to resolve the issue , 7 days of using the work around is unacceptable and highly frustrating.

Would appreciate any assistance.

Hi,

I have an issue where I cannot get users that have XP SP3 with either Outlook 2007 SP3 or Outlook 2010 + all required updates to connect to Exchange 365.

I get error "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. "

I have no issue with any user connecting to O365 with Win 7 + Outlook 2010.

Any ideas please?

Mail-enabled service account for Office 365 Enterprise

Is there a way to create a mail-enabled service account in Office 365 Enterprise? I have searched for the answer and haven't found it yet.

The use case:

We have a multifunction printer/copier (MFP) in our copy room. We need a service account for this MFP that can send and receive email. The MFP sends scanned documents and faxes directly to our users' mailboxes. This is a common use case, but I have not found a satisfactory answer.

What we tried that doesn't meet our needs:

We tried creating an "equipment" resource mailbox, but could not figure out how a non-Outlook client could send/receive mail with this mailbox.

We tried creating a non-licensed Office 365 user account (because this is a service account and not a human user of Office), but again could not figure out if a machine could send/receive mail with this account.

We are using shared mailboxes and Exchange security groups/lists very effectively. But nothing seems to fit this use case. Any ideas?

Migrated Blog Site does not allow anonymous access

I have just been migrated from SharePoint 2010 online to SharePoint 2013 (wave 15).

I had an existing blog site which was migrated as part of the whole migration process.

The migrated blog site does not allow anonymous access even though it had anonymous access before migration.

The OOTB public web site has a "Make WebSite Online" link.

The blog site does not have such a link :-

So what do I do now ?
