Emails not being pushed to Outlook

Some Outlook users reported delays in receiving new mail. The engineering team had already begun investigating an underlying issue: a server component failure that delayed notifications to Outlook clients. This caused a delay in new mail notifications being sent to users. Outlook functioned normally, but new mail retrieval was delayed. As an immediate workaround, users could click Send/Receive or press F9 to receive their new mail immediately. The fix for this issue was fully deployed by noon on 11/8/2011.
