Will a new version of the MS DirSync tool be provided at the Public Beta or GA? We heard that there will be a new version and would like confirmation if indeed this is true. When will the new version be posted and what changes to the tool are expected?
Thank you.
Hi Mitch, YES we will have a new version of DirSync V2 for the Public Beta, which means you will need to uninstall and reinstall the new build. This of course will require a Full Sync, but this new version provides you with the DirSync Write-Back capabilities (Offboarding Mail and maintaining replyability, Online UM settings for On-Premise Users, etc.). The new Write-Back method is simply a check-box that enables this functionality, and there will be updated User Assistance (UA) Help content to describe what is being written back.
Hope this helps

By any chance will the release run and be supported on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1?
Hi Mitch, not at this time. DirSync V2 still requires an x86 platform, otherwise installation will fail during this prerequisite check!
Given that we're in a x64bit world, why are you still building this to not support your current dc platform that doesn't offer a x86 version?
As the present DirSync tool actually is an ILM 2007 FP1 (which in it's turn actually is a MIIS 2003 SP2) implementation, the only is supported platform is x86.
A modified question might be to asertain whether Office 365 will support FIM 2010 (~ next gen of ILM 2007) in the future since FIM 2010 is a x64-platform only system, and if so when ?
