Hi David,
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an XML-based standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between security domains. ADFS also utilizes SAML package and transport claims data between trust partners. The following article is provided for your reference:
How Single Sign-On Works in Office 365 http://community.office365.com/en-us/w/sso/727.aspx
For detailed information about how to customize the ADFS 2.0 Sign-In Pages, you can refer to the following article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee895366.aspx

Hi Mindy,
If so where is the setting where I can redirect the when user try login their portal on microsoft?
Hello David,
After you deployed Single Sign-On for your organization, users will be redirected to AD FS 2.0 server in your on-premise domain for authentication. You can run the cmdlet Get-MsolDomainFederationSettings after connecting Windows Powershell to Office 365 to review settings of your federated domain. For more information about how to deploy AD FS 2.0, please refer to article below.
Plan for and deploy Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 for use with single sign-on http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff652539.aspx

Does Jack’s reply answer your question?
Office 365 does support SAML. You need to support both the SAML active profile (ECP) as well as the passive profile or else any thick client apps like Outlook Our subscription service supports both profiles and includes simple connectors for ASP.Net applications if you do not want to use ADFS.
