I'm trying to load new photos into my website (new pics - just taken, not copied from old website...) everything has been working fine until today - when i try to insert the picture, I get a blank box with a red x. How can I fix this?

  • Hi KKristy,

Please try to upload the images to your website image library and then use the Insert Image option when in edit mode on the public-facing website to insert the image.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hello KKristy,

This is Jason Burnside from Microsoft Office365 SharePoint Support.

Thanks for coming to the communities with your concerns about receiving a red X error in place of your images on your website.

Did you find Surya’s information helpful? Thanks for the post Surya.

Please upload the images into the Website Image Library again and then use the Insert Image option as Surya mentioned.

What file extension do the images have?

Without knowing your website address, I am unable to view the source code for your website which may give us more detail of the reason for your issue.

  • Jason,

I have deleted the origional photo from my website image library, uploaded it again and tried to insert it again (with the insert image button again)  - with no luck - again I am getting the empty box with a red x.

Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

  • Hello KKristy,

I went to your website however I did not see any red x errors in place of any of the images on your website. Did you remove the images that had the red x’s? If so, please add one of them so I am able to view it in the source code.

I will continue to monitor this thread for further posts or questions.

    Thanks,

  • I know, it's weird - it is not showing up on the public facing website, but on the page where I am editing - the inserted  photo shows up as an X. I inserted the same photo on a different page and it loaded just fine - not sure what the problem is....
