cannot open your default e-mail folders. Error message - Email and calendar - Office 365

Hi,

One of our clients is having issues with one mailbox and outlook. Whenever they open outlook they get the following message.

"cannot open your default e-mail folders. The information store could not be opened"

I have attempted to recreate the profile but it still brings up the same message. All other clients don't seem to be having any issues.

This Error could happen if the compatibility mode is enabled in outlook, disabling the compatibility mode resolved the error for one of my colleague.
Follow the steps below to disable the Compatibility mode on the Outlook.exe application, do the following:

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your Office directory[ Default : {"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14” for Office 2010"}
Right click the Outlook.exe and choose Properties
Click the Compatibility tab and Uncheck the option “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.
