Word Crashes when Setting Document Properties of Type People and Groups - Sites and document sharing - Office 365

I created a custom column on a doc lib with the domain People and Groups. When I create a new document, I'm offered the chance to set the document properties at the top of the new document. I can set text properties w/o problem. However, when I enter a name in the custom column on People and Groups, and click the check names button, Word crashes.

Word recovers the document, but SP doesn't recognize it from that point forward.

I am using Word 2010 ... the one that I downloaded and installed with the Office 365 beta program.

Hi David. Because this is a standard version of Word, and not specific to Office 365, support for this type of issue is offered through standard Office support channels.
