Hi
I have a number of PCs with SharePoint workspace installed.
I have a number of user accounts with site membership and site admin permissions. No matter what combination I login in on the site, SharePoint Workspace is greyed out.
I have logged in on the same PCs under a different office 365 tenant and SharePoint Workspace is not grey out. So it’s not an issue with IE or the PC?
How do I enable SharePoint Workspace for this tenant?
Also the document library is enabled for Offline Client Availability.
Specs are Windows 7 and IE9.
Thanks.
Hi Spudda,
This is Jonis from Microsoft SharePoint Online Support.
If only one of your tenants purchases the Microsoft Office Professional Plus service and installs the Office suite with Workspace on a desktop computer, that software is still available to all users of that desktop. In contrast, to use those features in SharePoint Online requires a valid SharePoint Online for Office 365 - Office Professional Plus license. SharePoint Online users with a valid license, for Microsoft Office Professional Plus, will see an active Sync to SharePoint Workspace icon while those without a valid license will see a grayed out icon.
If that does not answer your question please let me know as I will continue to monitor this thread for a few days and will reply to any additional posts or questions.

Hi Jonis,
Thanks for the reply.
The issue is not with the licencing as all users are on E3 and have ticks associated to all products.
It’s a permissions issue or its an issue with the site.
I have given users full control permissions on the document library they are trying to sync and still Sync to SharePoint Workspace is greyed out.
Even the site admin cannot sync to Workspace.
Any one got any ideas as Im now at a loss on why this is the case???
Thanks
ooooooppppps.
It was a setting in SharePoint.
This is what happens when you work too many hours you miss the easy stuff.
Go to Site Actions> Site Settings> Search and offline available> Offline Client Availability set to yes.
