Why do you think you have a 302 redirect?
I did some checking and found that there is a 301 redirect on you homepage and that is not bad for your website search engine standings. www.internetofficer.com/.../redirect-check
and see: Is there a limit to how many 301 (Permanent) redirects I can do on a site?
302 is not a redirect that gets penalized, unless you have thousands of them.
Hi paultqbc,
I have checked your domain, and found that your DNS records are correct. I also checked your website, which seems load correct and perform well.
Since I didn’t see the 302 redirect error you mentioned, could you please post the screen shots with error massages here to help us to check the problem?
Thanks,
Nancy Xie
How do I find out if it is a p or e account?
How do i find out if it is a P or E account?
Please find attached the report a reputable seo specialist gave me. The problem is the site isnt even showing anywhere in the top 50 pages for keyword builder coventry or kitchen fitter coventry and this seo specialist suggested this 302 redirect as a reason. I did follow these steps yesterday which may have fixed it but im not sure community.office365.com/.../174605.aspx Please let me know if this has fixed the 302 issue.
Well if that is the only thing he can tell you then that top SEO specialist is wrong. Re-directs is not the reason for your low listings.
There are so many other factors. Like:
Those keywords have a lot of competition.
Search on words that are found on your web pages:
quality builder coventry kitchen fitter Warwickshire
OR: Vinyl floors Amtico Ambiance Coventry
OR: Fascia Soffit Guttering Coventry quality builders
MyBuilders.com seems to dominate that market for those keywords (builder coventry or kitchen fitter)
Your site is fairly new.
You don't have many links (backlinks) to your website. See: www.builditon365.com/.../SEBacklinks.aspx
If fact take a look at this: The Most Important Search Engine Rule of All
You can check on re-directs by entering your domain name at:
http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/
and re-directs is not your problem.
My website has the same re-directs 302 and 301 and I am listed on page one for thousands of web searches. http://www.builditon365.com/Pages/SEInforTutorialO365.aspx
Thank you for your replies.
Just wondering why are microsoft using a 302 redirect from the www.rootdomain to the www./pages/homepage url?
Would that not be bad for seo? i.e. using a 302 temporary redirect on a page that is permanently redirected.
Should it not be a 301 redirect ?
Paul,
Redirects do NOT hurt your Search Engines listings.
Click on this --> Is there a limit to how many redirects I can do on a site?
and I told you "My website has the same re-directs 302 and 301 and I am listed on page one for thousands of web searches. Click on this --> http://www.builditon365.com/Pages/SEInforTutorialO365.aspx
Redirects are NOT your problem.
Thanks for WebBuider's efforts. I'd like to follow up on this thread to see if the problem has been resolved.
