Hello.

Paul Thurrott and I have been tinkering with Office 365 on our book domain; I must say, despite some pitfalls, things are looking great. Kudos to the Office 365 team.

I currently use Google Apps for hosting my email. (Which, in reality, is all my email personal and work.) I tied my Live ID to my custom domain and to a number of services like MSDN and Xbox Live. (Creating another account from scratch at this point is out of the question.)

I'd like to...

  1. Use my existing domain name, account(?)
  2. Host all Office 365 services on my existing domain (e.g. sharepoint.mydomain.com)
  3. Use my existing Live ID (and keep Live ID compatibility [1]). [Could be mitigated, let's talk about this!]
  4. Use Lync, with the ability to federate against Live ID/Hotmail.

Live ID compatibility feels important, because Lync sign in isn't available everywhere just yet. For example, I wouldn't be able to message people via Windows Phone.

Is all this feasible? Thoughts? Is there a list of services that would be impacted if I was to "migrate" my Live ID to Online Services?
