What is the best route for an individual to take with office 365? I currently use Office 2010 but would like to have full synching of my calendar and email on different computers and my Palm Pre cell phone.

Do you have a need for SharePoint or Lync? Exchange Online can get you email functionality, including much more than mobility, on its own (without need to purchase an entire suite).
Not particularly. I have copies of Office 2010 on both my laptop and desktop and am really used to Outlook. So the ideal would be to have Outlook sync on both computers and be able to access my email and calendar with my phone. If taht is available with Exchange online that would be great!
You can use Exchange Online with Office 365 to keep e-mail synchronized for the same user in multiple locations with Outlook and on your phone. You can also access your e-mail from a web browser from anywhere using Outlook Web App (OWA) at:
