How to point MX records to 3rd party hosts from MS 365, for directing emails only.

  • Hello Joe,

    First, either clear out any existing MX records, or give them a priority number higher than 0.

    Next, create an MX record for your domain:

    Priority: 0

    Host Name: @

    Points to Address: yourdomain-com.mail.eo.outlook.com

    TTL: 1 hour

    Also create an SPF (TXT) record:

    TXT Name: @

    TXT Value: v=spf1 include:outlook.com ~all

    TTL: 1 hour

    Finally an autodiscover record (CNAME):

    Host name: autodiscover

    Points to Address: autodiscover.outlook.com

    TTL: 1 Hour
