Desktop and online synchronization

This question is answered This question is answered

Hello.

I attempted to install the tools that I am hoping will allow me to link my desktop Outlook 2010 to the Office365 Outlook.

The installation and configuration failed and I am not able to find any information about how to resolve these issues (see above).

I can't find any way to contact technical support directly either, even though I went ahead and paid for the P1 plan.

Any assistance much appreciated,

Richard.

For P subscriptions you don't receive any support from Microsoft O365 directly, only via this community forums which also have MS support staff that can answer your questions.

  • Hi Richard,

At this point, please check if you can download and install the Office 365 desktop updates manually. To download the updates, please go to the following site:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/w/administration/manually-install-office-365-desktop-updates.aspx

If any error message or error code is received when installing the updates, please capture a screenshot for further research. Meanwhile, I would like to confirm the following information:

    1. Is Office 2010 Service Pack 1 beta installed on the computer?
    2. What’s the version and type of your operating system?

    Thanks,
    Mindy Pan

  • Hello.

Here is my Office 2010 version info:

    I am running Windows Professional 7 SP1 64-bit.

Can you please tell me if I need to install the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of the downloads you have pointed to?

    Thanks,

    Richard.

  • Hi Richard,

I understand that you are running Office 2010 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit system. Given this situation, please download and install Microsoft Office 2010 Update 32 bit version.

    Thanks,
    Mindy Pan

  • I downloaded and tried to install the 32-bit update for Outlook but I got this message that it was already installed:

I tried the Downloads again and still get the same errors as I reported on Sunday.

  • Hi Richard,

Based on this situation, it appears that the Outlook updates have been installed already.  At this point, please continue to do the steps below:

    1. Download and install Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant 64 bit from the following site:
    http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg584180.aspx

    2. Connect Outlook to the Office 365 account: http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/dd253202.aspx

    3. Manually configure Lync and SharePoint: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg584180.aspx

After completing the above steps, check if the programs such as Outlook and Lync work properly.

    Thanks,
    Mindy Pan

  • Hi Richard,

How is everything going? Do you have any updates about the status of the issue?

    Thanks,
