I attempted to install the tools that I am hoping will allow me to link my desktop Outlook 2010 to the Office365 Outlook.
The installation and configuration failed and I am not able to find any information about how to resolve these issues (see above).
I can't find any way to contact technical support directly either, even though I went ahead and paid for the P1 plan.

Based on this situation, it appears that the Outlook updates have been installed already. At this point, please continue to do the steps below:
1. Download and install Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant 64 bit from the following site:
2. Connect Outlook to the Office 365 account: http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/dd253202.aspx
3. Manually configure Lync and SharePoint: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg584180.aspx
After completing the above steps, check if the programs such as Outlook and Lync work properly.
For P subscriptions you don't receive any support from Microsoft O365 directly, only via this community forums which also have MS support staff that can answer your questions.
At this point, please check if you can download and install the Office 365 desktop updates manually. To download the updates, please go to the following site:
If any error message or error code is received when installing the updates, please capture a screenshot for further research. Meanwhile, I would like to confirm the following information:
1. Is Office 2010 Service Pack 1 beta installed on the computer?
2. What’s the version and type of your operating system?

Can you please tell me if I need to install the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of the downloads you have pointed to?

I downloaded and tried to install the 32-bit update for Outlook but I got this message that it was already installed:
I tried the Downloads again and still get the same errors as I reported on Sunday.
