There are some required changes to get AutoDiscover for Lync Mobile to work with Office 365 in DNS. Create a CName entries for your Office 365 domain:
lyncdiscover CNAME webdir.online.lync.com
(i.e. lyncdiscover.yourdomain.com resolves to webdir.online.lync.com)
You can find out more about the network and DNS requirements of Lync for Office 365 here:

Odd, but I can't get it to connect to my O 365. It keeps giving me the error: Unable to sign in. Can't connect to the server. It might be unavailable. Also please check your network connection, sign-in address, and server addresses.
Does the Auto-detect server option not work with O 365?
Did you update your DNS with lyncdiscover?
I'm using initial domain (*.onmicrosoft.com), so there's no opportunity to manage DNS records. Should I add new domain in order to sign-in using Lync Mobile?
hi, I'm also using *.onmicrosoft.com , i can't connect from wp7 same problem
Seems to be the same problem everywhere with the *.onmicrosoft.com.
I now opened a ticket at the germany support hotline. We'll see how long it takes..
Hi
Can you post the answer here ?
I will also try to contact with online support
Thank you
Same here, am using the default onmicrosoft.com domain, cannot manage the DNS there...
Same problem here. Using mydomain.onmicrosoft.com. Exactly the same error and no way of changing DNS records.
I have try using Lync desktop on my notebook and is working..
I have try with Mobile Lync using the same user name and password, over 3g and wifi.. But is not working..
So I guess is not a DNS problem because the Lync Desktop app is working. Must be something wrong with the mobile app
Hi All.
Nothing wrong with the client and it it a dns error. As a shortcut, you can manually set the server to webdir.online.lync.com
Hi Nick,
I tried that and still get the same error. I'm assuming you mean webdir.online.lync.com:443?
Anyone got it working with mydomain.onmicrosoft.com yet?
I've also tried with webdir.online.lync.com and webdir.online.lync.com:443 as discovery servers without luck.
Not yet. I think Office 365 team should add resolving record lyncdiscover -> webdir.online.lync.com for all *.onmicrosoft.com domains.
