We have our office 365 hosted by a 3rd party and my user has Outlook 2010.
He has created a 2nd email for his quotes and has shared this folder with others. Our issues are, he will create a folder in Outlook and it takes a couple days to show up, but he can see it there if he logs into 365 online.
Also those that share the folder with him will drag an email to one of those folders then can't see it again.
He is also getting the following Sync errors...
11:15:00 Synchronizer Version 14.0.6114
11:15:00 Synchronizing Mailbox '(my users name here)'
11:15:00 Error Synchronizing Hierarchy for Mailbox 'Project Office'

Thanks for the feedback.
Based on your description, since the user can access to the mailbox in OWA (Outlook Web App) without issues, this could be caused by Performance problems in the Outlook desktop client when trying to access folders in a secondary mailbox. To solve the issue, please try the steps below:

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, he is still having issues after working with the regestry. The folder wasn't there to disable cashing so I did as the article suggested and created it.
I need to look deeper as I do not believe the account was set up correctly (which was before I started here). I am looking into this and will get back with you soon.
Also, Once I figure out how to administer sharepoint ( I have no current exp.) from the Office 365 perspective then we will be moving all those documents from those email folders to a shared location for that department. :-)
Thanks for your updates.
