Hi all,

We are new to Office 365 - we've been using for around 2 months or so and we have found that we cant email some of our customers. Emailing these customers wasn't a problem before we move the 365. Has anyone else had this problem and/or can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this?

We get the message below (most of the time from bigfish.com but also froma few others too) - I have removed the customers email address for data protection reasons:

  • Hi Tom,

Thanks for provide the full NDR.

Based on that NDR, Microsoft Online Server tried to deliver the mail to destination server, but the email address is not existed on the mail server. So could you contact that customer and confirm the email address?

And the NDR indicates that the reject reason is not same as you posted in this thread, so please send the original NDR as a private message to me.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting the Non-Delivery Report (NDR).

You can try to add the external user’s domain to the Safe Sender List in Outlook Web App.

I understand you removed the personal information. I noticed the sender and recipient are the same address. So, in order to narrow down the root cause, please send me the full NDR without modified.

I have sent you a private message on this. It was responded in a private message with a subject of "Information Request".

Please go to the Your details section on the right side of the community site.

    Click Private messages.

Click the subject title of the response to read the message.

You can reply by using the form in that display to provide the information requested.

    Thanks,
    Ray Yang

  • Hi Tom,

Based on the late NDR, the user you prefer to send does not exist on the destination server. Microsoft Online Server tried to deliver the email but the destination server reject the email as the mail address doesn’t exist.

So, could you confirm whether the mail address is correct?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Yes - it does, but I know that the email address does exist (if you google sao1.wingfield.greenwich@lgfl.netyou will see that it is in use) and also I used to send emails to this email address before I moved to Office 365 without any issues.

Is it possible that there are any other issues?

    Thanks,

  • I am not sure. You can contact the mail address owner to check the status.

Also, you can use hotmail to send a test email. This mail is reject by the recipient  server. NOT OFFICE 365 SERVER

  • Hi CShultz,

I understand that you have encountered similar issue.

I noticed you have removed some information of the Non-Delivery Report (NDR). I would suggest you post a new thread about the detailed information of the issue you encountered and the full NDR. This is so we could focus on your questions and provide more specific solutions for you.

    Thanks,

    Ray Yang

  • Hi Ray, couldn't figure out how to post a complete new thread, could we private message you with the full NDR to avoid posting our private email and domain info on a forum?

    Thanks
