Written by:  Laura Rogers, SharePoint MVP, Rackspace

In this edition of our SharePoint permissions blog series, we cover several topics that answer common questions that often arise about managing SharePoint permissions.  These three videos contain demonstrations and examples of scenarios when managing SharePoint permissions.

•Video 1:   Create a new permission level in SharePoint Online
 •Video 2:   Selective Permission Granting
•Video 3:   Office 365 Security Groups versus SharePoint Groups

After watching these videos, you will understand at a more detailed level how permissions are managed within SharePoint Online sites.

In case you missed it, here's a link to the first post in this series:  Understanding Permissions In Office 365: The Basics.

Be sure to check back next week for the next edition of our SharePoint permissions blog series!

There are some amazing how-to videos

  • Hi Laura, great content as always! I agree that SharePoint groups are preferable to O365 security groups if you only need to use that group in the context of one site collection. But if you want a group that you can reuse across multiple site collections O365 groups can be a great solution for that.
