We’ve been getting some questions about this, so wanted to clarify: Lync Online meetings are currently limited to 250 participants.
However, as announced last November, Microsoft intends to increase the Lync Online meeting size to 1,000, bringing it in line with what’s available now for Lync Server customers. For details, see Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Support for Large Meetings.
The exact timeline hasn’t been determined, but the engineering and operations planning necessary to support large Lync Online meetings is already in progress.
As soon as we know more, we’ll let you know.
Please clarify a little bit more. Does this 250 participant limit apply to the Small Business and Professional (P1) plan as well? Apparently some are of the impression that the limit for the P1 plan is 50, but this comparison chart says 250: g.microsoftonline.com/.../1179
Lync Online is available in two stand-alone plans (Plan 1 and Plan 2) - as well as part of the Office
