Thanks for mentioning the Xync client for IOS. When I looked at it initially a few weeks ago it didn't work with 365 but now it does.
Some limitations though. I am referring to the collaboration version of Xync. This is the most expensive version, However all versions are on special at the moment.
1. There is no capacity to do video calling between the IOS client on my iPad and the mac Lync client, When I initiate video from IOS to Mac Lync it rings on Mac Lync but it won't answer when I click on the answer icon. Also when I try it the other way around and try to initiate video from Mac Lync the Mac client rings but the IOS client doesn't get the call.
2. Life is different when I use MS Lync 2010. I can get a video call happening. Video on the IOS is fine and poor on the MS Lync client as you observed. I personally doubt that this is due to the iPad camera. I get perfectly good video with FaceTime, Skype and Vidyo. I am guessing it has to do with the bandwidth hungry RTVideo codec that MS uses.
3. So far I have only worked out how to get one way collaboration going between IOS/Xync and mac/MS Lync.
Early days - things can only get better.
