There is a KB Article that gets updated more frequently than this blog. Office 365 for professionals and small businesses users cannot use Lync 2010 to see presence, send instant messages, or make video calls to Windows Live Messenger users
The status has not changed:
Microsoft is researching this and will post more information about PIC availability in Office 365 for professionals and small businesses in this article when the information becomes available.
It would be nice to have a status update on this issue. It is critical for our business to have Lync-Messenger communication. Please update as to what Microsoft is doing to resolve this issue. Thank you.
Still no update/resolution? this 'feature' is still mentioned in Lync documentation but does not appear to have been resolved in a over a year.
Hello, Is there anyone dealing with this issue?, is it still an issue? July 14, 2011 was the original notice of the "temporary" removal of this service ability. all documentation appears to shows this as possible. The information, help, wikis, blogs available to us end users is getting more and more obsolete and frustrating. It is impossible to actually find "Current information" unless you actually start a service ticket and talk to a service rep. Please be a responsible person and look after your blog. This "Notice" is an incredible waste of time and a DIS-Service to your Company/Employer and ALL users of the Office 365 Product.
