As an administrator, you need to know that the software you use is up and running. You also probably want to know when maintenance on these services might affect your users. In Office 365, you can easily do all this by looking at the Service Health Dashboard.

On the Service Health Dashboard Current status page, you can see at a glance the current status of all your subscriptions, and you can see whether any events took place during the previous six days. Icons show you if there is any service degradation or interruption. To look more closely at an event, you can click an icon and read a concise explanation of what is taking place.

On the Service Health Dashboard Planned maintenance page, you can read the date and time of upcoming or current maintenance on a service and what the maintenance entails. Next you can scroll down the page to look at Maintenance history, which reveals planned maintenance events that are complete. To see what kind of maintenance is taking place, you can click the link in the Status column.
