I've been using OLSB for several web-sites so far. I love it and am disappointed to see it go, since it covered my needs beautifully. My questions are around transitioning from OLSB to O365.

    - Can I just move my OLSB web-sites over to O365 1:1? (how?)

    - What is the definition of paying user as in $x/user/month? I'm 1 user, but I have several e-mail addresses for different purposes under OLSB. Do I need to pay for each e-mail address I use?

    - How can I move my OLSB e-mail addresses based on hotmail smoothly over to O365 without a lapse?

    - I have linked several domain names to my main web site domain, using the OLSB Domain Manager. Will this still be possible for O365?

    - If yes, is it now possible to link .ch (Switzerland) domains? This was not possible with OLSB.

Eagerly awaiting your answers :-) Thanks.

  • Hi - don't see a blog page template in Office365.  Will one be coming?  That is something companies will want to be using for sure....

I'm sort of hoping for an answer to my questions, so that I can switch and promote...

Could I pleeease get answers to my questions? Pretty please? With a cherry, cream and chocolate sprinkles on top? Thanks!

  • @Mark: Thanks for the feedback, we don't have this today but rest assured we have heard the request and are working on it.

@Lightning: I repasted and answered your questions below:

    - Can I just move my OLSB web-sites over to O365 1:1? (how?)

No, there is are differences in the feature set that will not allow you to port 1:1. We are providing guidance on how to move and where to move (based on specific needs) shortly. That is all I can share at the moment, please stay tuned.

    - What is the definition of paying user as in $x/user/month? I'm 1 user, but I have several e-mail addresses for different purposes under OLSB. Do I need to pay for each e-mail address I use?

No. You can have several incoming "SMTP" addresses (dummy addresses such as sales@yourcompanydomain.com) that send to a single mailbox. Each responding (outgoing) account will need to be a paying user. So you have several emails all directing to your inbox, and then reply to them as yourself, as 1 paying user.

    - How can I move my OLSB e-mail addresses based on hotmail smoothly over to O365 without a lapse?

This is simple and Microsoft will provide services to do so (similar to TrueSwitch for Hotmail, but specific to Office365). secure5.trueswitch.com/hotmail. Stay tuned here and in the OLSB community for details.

    - I have linked several domain names to my main web site domain, using the OLSB Domain Manager. Will this still be possible for O365?

Yes, this is possible. We will be posting a blog on this by the end of the month or first week of july to the technical blog: community.office365.com/.../default.aspx stay tuned.

    - If yes, is it now possible to link .ch (Switzerland) domains? This was not possible with OLSB.

I'll have to check on this one.
